代用碱是一种适用于纯棉织物活性染料染色工艺的固色碱剂，由多种碱性化合物复配而成，取代传统染色工艺中的纯碱，是一只理想优化碱剂，碱性适中、缓冲能力强、用量仅有纯碱的十分之一。

在染色工艺中能有效控制染料的同步上染，而染色效果与纯碱一样，但是其染色匀染性、色泽坚牢度、得色鲜艳色、操作适用性都较纯碱为优。
